Affection

More specifically, hugs.
We hug so much that I feel that sometimes hugging has lost
its meaning in a way.
Are we just hugging for the sake of it?
Because someone initiates it?
Because it is a habit when we greet or part?

Hugging is physical.
Hugging creates bonds.
Hugging creates comfort.

But, do we take in the whole hug?
Yes, sometimes they are rushed.
A hello or goodbye hug.

But hugging is so much more powerful and emotional
than that.

Today, I received several hugs.
From family and from friends.

But two of them stood out because they meant something.
I learned to actually feel the hug.
Feel what it did to me.
It taught me patience and it taught me to be relaxed.

I felt comfort and peace.
I could eel the meaning in the hug.

So next time,
try to use your senses to take in the full effect of a hug.

And think,
Did this hug, this intimate form of affection, have any meaning
or was it just a common action that meant almost nothing?
